Full description
Enjoy the ride on an open Safari truck through the wilderness, the local villages, dusty roads and plantations! Discover the Dominican Republic for what it actually is. And trust us, it’s something completely different than what you see in the tourist areas. Our truck will first take us to the endless sugar cane plantations, where we will see how it is cut and then transported, and we will also have the opportunity to taste it. Then we will visit a cute small cigar factory where its owner, the charismatic señor Ismael, will show you how a cigar is made telling you all the secrets of his trade. You will also have the possibility of trying out local cigars accompanied by a glass of the well loved vitamin R (rum). Next up – the visit to a typical Dominican village with its local school, where you can meet and hang out with the local kids, who, by the way, just love it when the tourists come to meet them, play with them, take pictures and maybe even bring them some gifts! We then stop at a typical ranch, where its owner, the hospitable señor Narciso, will show you how he makes cocoa. You can participate in this intricate process if you want to as well as taste the final product! Afterwards, you take a boat trip on the famous Chavón River, where the blockbusters Rambo 2, Apocalypse Now, Anaconda and many others were filmed. Obviously, you will be accompanied by Latin music, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, dancing and good vibes! You will then return to your accommodation.
Optional
Those willing to continue the trip after the half day Safari Emotion will enjoy further hospitality of Narciso and have typical lunch at his ranch. Afterwards, they will head to Altos de Chavón, a replica of a medieval Italian village built in the 70s as a cultural and recreational center of the luxurious Casa de Campo resort area. Finally, our clients are transferred back to their accommodation.
